Meet the same tree twice

Choose a nearby companion
Pick a tree you can visit easily from a public path. Add a private location to your journal if you want help finding it again. Avoid marking sensitive habitats or entering private land.
Notice what changes
Look for buds, new leaves, flowers, fruit, and changes in colour. Photograph from a similar position each time. Add the date and a short note about what you noticed.
Let nature set the pace
Some weeks very little changes. That is part of the pleasure. Follow your tree for an occasional reminder, and return when it suits you. Your journal has no streak to lose.
